Re: A lot of fuss about nothing
by
natalie
As the sister of Mrs Vicki Allmey, I take great offense at the above article and references that the CPS consulted my sister throughout all proceedings. The fact of the matter is the CPS let my sister down on all counts. She was ill advised, the barrister knew nothing of my sister's case, or the history surrounding it - in fact on occasions you could have been forgiven for thinking she / the prosecution were actually acting on behalf of the defense rather than my sister [I was present in the public gallery for the whole trial, as were my parents].
A catalogue of errors by the CPS proceeded the trial including failure to advise my sister that special measures were available before the trial started.
It is completely obvious that the CPS, after discussion with the defense barrister, entered into a plea bargain to get the case "over and done with". I have absolutely NO faith in the CPS what so ever.
I do however, highly applaud the integrity of the judge and the hard and dedicated work of the police.
